Guglielmo Panelli is a senior majoring in physics and mathematics at the University of Nevada, Reno. He is currently conducting research on dark matter detection experiments with precision measurement devices. In his free time, he enjoys learning jazz trumpet and Spanish. Upon receiving his bachelors, Guglielmo will be pursuing a graduate degree in physics.
Daniela Lemus is a senior majoring in neuroscience with two minors in business administration and nutrition at the University of Nevada, Reno. She is currently conducting research on the duration perception of auditory and visual signals. In her free time, she enjoys boxing and trivia. Upon receiving her bachelors, Daniela will be pursing a medical degree.
Xavier a mechanical engineering student involved in research related to sustainable technologies for deep space exploration and habitation. His current research experiences center around semi-conducting photocatalytic nanomaterials, terrestrial and extraterrestrial water treatment, climate change, geoengineering, CO2-derived fuels, hydrogen evolution, renewable energy, photovoltaic efficiency and system development, deep space exploration and habitation, and environmental controls and life support systems.
Valeria Nava is a senior majoring in environmental engineering with a minor in statistics at the University of Nevada, Reno. She is conducting research on the implications of nanomaterials in agricultural systems. After graduating with her bachelor's degree she aims to pursue a doctorate in environmental engineering. Her favorite pastimes include playing tennis, running, and drinking coffee.
Spence Banda is majoring in secondary education and history with a minor in foreign affairs. Academically, he enjoys studying communist dictators of the 20th century and the relations between their countries. His personal interests include geography, government, politics, and linguistics. Upon graduating with his bachelor's degrees, he hopes to earn a master's degree related to any one of the subjects mentioned above.
Madison is an Honors Student with an English Literature and Secondary Education Major. She particularly loves Modernism and Romanticism, and, one day, she hopes to be an English Professor. In her free time, she enjoys playing classical guitar, spending time with friends and family, reading comics, and watching anime.
Ei Myint recently graduated from UNLV with a Bachelor’s in Economics and minors in Mathematics and Psychology, and is currently pursuing a M.A. in Economics at UNLV. As an undergraduate, Ei conducted Economics research related to Nevada educational policy, as well as completed an undergraduate thesis examining the predictors of adolescents’ interest in STEM majors. Currently, she is conducting research on the impact of Breakfast After the Bell program in Nevada on students’ educational outcomes. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, listening to music, and reading books and poems.
Edward is studying biochemistry and molecular biology. His research focuses on investigating protein targets and substrates of a putative protein O-fucosyltransferase in Arabidopsis thaliana and he is developing a database for the examination of post-translational modification data in the context of interaction networks and metabolic pathways. Edward will be pursuing a graduate education in biochemistry.
